This playoff season has gotten me in a tizzy. Let me start out by saying I am a HUGE Lebron James fan. Last night he delivered a performance for the ages and gave the haters a big cup of shut the fuck up. The criticism he receives day in and day out, while being the best player in the league is one of the most bizarre things I've ever witnessed. It really fires me up as I feel like the people who make these ridiculous statements like "he's not clutch" or "he doesn't show up in the big games" don't know wtf they are talking about. To be clear, the reason for writing this today is NOT because Lebron went off last night.

This morning, I'm listening to a sports talk radio station and a caller from Pound ridge NY (a lavish suburb in Westchester County where a lot of soft white kids live) called in and was dismayed that Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett didn't bring their same intenisty to last nights game..that they folded. So the morons appear to have something equally as stupid to say as the ridiculous Lebron bashing we have heard time and time again,  proving again my insistence that most fans should just watch and enjoy these incredible athletes play the game, and then just shut up.    Right...KG didn't bring his intensity...because it can't be that they just missed a bunch of shots because that's just what sometimes happens in sports....no...it has to be something deeper than that..always. Ridiculous.   Do any of these people realize that guys like KG and Pierce (and almost ANYBODY in the NBA) is more mentally tough, more driven, more intense than ANY of us could ever dream of being? How do you think they got so far?  Most of them grew up in situations that we couldn't even fathom...but there is something in all of them that made them get to this point, and it's something that most of us simply don't possess. It's always amusing to me when some soft white dude gets to call in or blog from the comfort of his fortunate existence, and comment on whether or not these guys are "soft" or "not clutch", when the fact is if you placed any of these people in any of these high pressure situations, they would all shit in their pants...i know i would. I have played basketball games in front of a  thousand people and almost threw up on myself. I don't say that to illustrate that I was once able to walk and chew gum at the same time...I swear. I truly want to point out that I know for a FACT that I couldn't handle what these guys go through. I felt PRESSURE, and nobody was even watching!!!!   Multiply that by about 10,000 and we get the idea of what these guys face....and then multiply it by another 50 and get the idea of what the stars face every night. Lebron faces this to a greater degree than any athlete on the planet, and seems to handle it pretty well...and at the very least, he handles it to a degree that should earn the SOFT WHITE GUY IN HIS LIVING ROOM's respect. They live in a world we couldn't even fathom...it's time for the fans, Chris Broussard, Michael Wilbon, Stephen A Smith and Skip Bayless to just shut the fuck up.

One more thing....here is a piece about Paul Pierce about his stabbing incident in 2000...

"On September 25, 2000, Pierce was stabbed 11 times in the face, neck, and back and had a bottle smashed over his head while at the Buzz Club, a late night dance club in Boston's theatre district. He had to undergo lung surgery to repair the damage.[27][28]Nevertheless, Pierce was the only Celtic to start all 82 games in the 2000–01 season. Also, witnesses say that Pierce was attempting to separate the fighters when he was stabbed."

And some white dude from Pound Ridge called this morning saying Pierce didn't rise to the moment..... this shit cracks me up. The guy got stabbed 11 times and didn't miss a game. Whoever that kid is that called in should have a bottle smashed over his head, and then have to compete against the best players on the planet....funny stuff.
