I'm working on my blogging skills so i hope this works. I came across this video while watching CMG head into orbit and being that I'm losing my mind while going thru THIS bullshit, so I sat here and gave this video/song some thought.

Ripping the song for improper use of the term "ironic" has been de rigueur  since the day it came out. It's a silly tune with nonsensical lyrics ("10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife"? huh??) and would have been more appropriately titled "M
an...Doesn't that SUCK!!!"  In the meantime.. I love this tune. Sue me. It's a great tune from a great album..period.   Ive got one hand in my pocket, and the other is extending its middle finger to the haters.

    A of all) There is nothing nonsensical about the lyrics. Have you ever been ready to dig into one of those pints of Ben and Jerry's in your freezer with nothing more to help you than a knife? Devastating. We've all been there.

    B of all) Don't be ashamed to enjoy it. Rolling Stone compared the significance to the Jagged Little Pill album to Carole King's Tapestry album. Both proved the evolution of the female singer/songwriter during that time. And yes, I remembered that fact from a class I took called "Enter the Diva, Women in Music."

    I'm with you Meg. Alanis even presented some lifetime achievement award to Annie Lennox ..so much a Diva she even named her landmark album..."DIVA"
